Evolution of N423CF - The Plane!

N423CF's - The Kit Plane
Vans RV-10

After many years of dreaming (drooling), I finally decided that I would begin the adventure and build my own plane. This would be a very large undertaking as time is not something I have a lot of. So in 2004 I submitted my Christmas list to my wife with only 2 items on it. A kitplane and the necessary tools to go with it. This would not only be my Christmas for this year, but birthday and Christmas' for the next 20 years.

On Christmas morning we woke and opened presents with our daughter. There were two presents under the tree for me. I always new my wife had a sense of humor, but this was the best. She got me an airplane alright. One that can be taken apart and rebuild. It can also be made into a helicopter, submarine, and a car. The dimensions include a wingspan of 11 inches, height of 6 1/4 inches, length of 9 3/4 inches. It doesn't hold any passengers, but it is remote controlled.

The other present was a wind sock for the deck on the back of the house. Not only have I transformed my garage into a hanger, but the deck now shows the wind to complete my make believe airport.

Never fear, my wife was just joking and a few weeks later the first part of the plane arrived at my garage door. The tools took a little longer but they arrived as well and the adventure to build the plane began.
